On 25th October 1595, a Filipino soldier, Gil Perez, was found in the main square in Mexico City. The man said that the night before he had been standing guard in Manila when a thick green fog had enveloped him, he lost consciousness and later woke 1000 miles away in Mexico City. He was promptly arrested as a deserter, and only released a few months later, when a report came through wondering where he had gone to as he was on guard just before he went missing.
